00zim00
Hey all, sorry if this has been answered somewhere else but I couldn't find the exact answer. I brought the k70 RGB keyboard this time last year (early December 2014) and I recently noticed I have over 15 of my Leds not fully working. In the process of researching a solution I found out about the keyboard not having true 16 million colors and the issues the "hot fix" software update caused such as flickering. So I emailed Corsair support who replied to me with a RMA return document. However they didn't answer my question about if I could get a refund for my keyboard due to both the 'Lied' to 16 million colors and of course now the broken leds. I just got a generic response telling me to just send it back so wanted clarification. -Is my keyboard also effected by the 16 million color fiasco as I believe it is as it says 16 million on the box. -Am I still able to get a refund on my keyboard or has that option passed. -The RMA says I am responsible for the cost of the return, can I just take it back to the shop I got it from in order to get them to organize it as they are pretty good for that sort of thing or do I have to do it myself. Anything you need to know to help answer feel free to ask, thanks :)
Administrators Technobeard Posted December 19, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 19, 2015 I checked out your ticket and you only asked about a refund after the tech responded, not before. They aren't psychic :) Yes, you can get a refund if you want. Stores are under no obligation to help with an RMA direct to Corsair. They have their own policies. If they can help out, that's great! 00zim00
Your right, i just rechecked it out.. i think my question was cut off with the 1000 word limit xD. Either that or the 40 C weather here fried my brain haha thanks for the fast reply, ill wait for a ticket response :)
00zim00
Just another question if that's ok, :) If I DID get a replacement for my k70 is it a new version of the keyboard that has the 16 million color issue fixed with no flicking as the software update and my current keyboard has or is it an identical made keyboard with the same issues? Also if i get a replacement does my warranty reset or do i keep my old warranty period. Thank you :)
Administrators Technobeard Posted December 19, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 19, 2015 There's only one hardware version of the K70. Replacing it wouldn't fix the 16.8M flickering issue. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/support/warranty Any repaired or replacement hardware will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty (30) days, whichever is greater, or for the period of time required by local statute.
