sdollx
I recently purchased a Sager NP5690-V, Phoenix BIOS, Intel® 875P, 865PE, 865G chipsets + ICH5 and i bought 2 VS512SDS400. I get a series of beeps and the notebook does not boot. What memory is compatible with this notebook?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 17, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 17, 2004 According to the Data Sheet this NB will support DDR400. However, that will depend on the CPU speed or FSB. If you have an 800 FSB then DDR400 should be supported, but if your CPU FSB is 533 then DDR333 would be needed. The part# would be VS512SDS400 or VS512SDS333! And it will also support dual channel so you would need to order the modules in pairs as well. sdollx
It is a 3.4 processor and 800 FSB. I placed it into a Toshiba and the memory works fine. Am I doing something wrong?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 22, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 22, 2004 I would check for a newer bios for your other NB. But if the modules run with no problem in another system that would suggest an issue with the Sager System. You might contact them and see what they have too say!
