TeknoMage
I was running Memtest86 and i had over 1900 errors before i quit the test. This seems like it is a little extream for ram failure. I can still use the system but it locks and crashes randomly. My motherboard is an intel 875p CPU p4 3.0Ghz RAM is XMS3200 platinum matched pair. what do u think? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 17, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 17, 2004 With your Intel D875PBZ MB and our TwinX1024-3200; please set the following setting, but before making the necessary changes please make sure that you have the latest BIOS installed on your MB. SDRAM Frequency - 400 CPC Override - DISABLED SDRAM tRASmin - 8 SDRAM tCL - 3 SDRAM tRCD - 3 SDRAM tRP - 3 DDR Voltage 2.7 V All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! TeknoMage
I changed the settings to what you specified except the voltage (it wasn’t an option) and it ran 3 passes with no errors. I had never changed any of the CAS settings but they were different than you specified. Last time I used Memtest86 3.1, this time I used Memtest86+ 1.40. So it appears to not be the ram. Could you point me in the right direction or suggest another utility? Must be either motherboard or CPU that’s causing the instability. FYI- this system has never been over clocked. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 20, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 20, 2004 http://www.memtest86.com or http://www.memtest.org are both good to use. But if the results are not consistant, I would maybe check for a power problem. Or if you can test the modules in another MB that might help isolate the problem.
