stridro
Hi guys, Yes I am new to these fourms. Recently I just built an new computer to play intense games. Recently I have been getting random reboots during gameplay. These are some errors I found in event logger. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x957121e8, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x80527773),The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x000005c4, 0x000000ff, 0x00000001, 0x805353b1),and The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x00000008, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xf6e2f874) I been trying everything figure out what wrong. I replace a lot of things on my computer to see what the was problem, also try different motherboard and hardrive. Only thing left is the memory. I know alot sites saying it could be bad ram. So I ran Memtest86 and found couple errors within 15 mins of the test at @voltage 400 setting 2-2-2-5 with volt 2.6 mostly my motherboard default then we change volts to 2.7 and 2.8 still was getting errors takes bit longer then we try 2-3-2-6 we thought it was not going to error but to the end it did. Last we try 3-2-2-5 it didn't error for long time so we thought it was ok, but I am still getting random reboots when playing intense game or apps. What should I do? Spec of comp in sig

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2005 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and test the system again. In addition, as I remember there was a voltage issue with this model of MB, you might check with ABIT as well to make sure you may need to have them take a look at your MB. stridro
we set dim to 2.8 and ran test because we still got alot errors 2.7 but sadly at 2.8 we got just few errors not million like before could be the memory not really bad to handle well with these mb because i know other friends with the same mb with different memory and saw review that show The memory timings used with each test system were all set to 2-6-2-2 and run in synchronous mode (400 MHz DDR) but they used Memory: 2 x 256MB Corsair XMS Platinum PC3500 1 x 512MB Kingston HyperX PC3500 any ideas to do running out over here should we try those timings
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 12, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 12, 2005 Can a friend maybe help you test these in another system? If you still have problems in another system I have no problem getting them replaced, but I would like to test those modules personally.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 13, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 13, 2005 Please make sure that you install the memory modules on either slots 1&3 or 2&4 and also have the latest BIOS installed for your MB; load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200XL Softmenu Setup CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 MHz CPU/Memory ratio: 1:1 Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.75 Volts System performance: AUTO AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced/Chipset Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 2T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5T Game Accelerator Mode: Auto All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! stridro
Alright we did what was said and try different memory and still get errors but we switch the video card and it pass one time and the second pass one it did not. What does these me bad video card or is there is more to problem seeing we still get errors on one of passes Update: We ran memtest (newest version 1.40) a few more test and are getting wierd results we ran all the sticks one at a time in one slot then on the other slots no errors on 2 passes theses is other company memory and urs. After that we tried 2 sticks in single channel on 1,2 then 3,4 2 after 2 passes no errors. So we like ok. Tried dual channel it errors after one pass or the first pass it depends. What could be the problem. We haven't found an options to see we need change something to make it work in dual channel and nothing in the manual says anything about changing settings to work . Kind of puzzle might be bad mb or cpu so we going get exchange tomarrow keep you updated.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 21, 2005 That is strange indeed, and it sounds like there might be a more obscure problem, like a failing PSU or CPU and or some type of EMI or grounding problem. I would try and remove the MB from the case and just use the box the MB came in to test it. And just too test if you can I would test the system with another PSU if you can. But I have no problem replacing your modules if you want to try that.

Well we found that the Kingston hyper x memory in dual channel passed 2 passes of memtest now :[p , but twinx didn't. :[pouts: :[pouts: :[pouts: If I can get it replace and if so can (?) they can be tested before ship to know they are working when they come to me or maybe refund. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 24, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 24, 2005 All XMS modules are tested twice in a dual channel mode at its rated speed on a MB before we even sell it to our resellers and distributors; especially if the modules are RMA. Anyways, please contact again our Customer service department and explain to them the situation; they should be able to help you out, and get your memory modules replaced.
