oxon
I have the above motherboard and Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL (rated 2-2-2-5). I'm using the AMD Athlon XP 3000+ w/ 400 MHz FSB. I am wondering what the optimal BIOS settings are for this memory and configuration. I have heard everything from 2-2-2-7 to 2-2-2-11. I'm also not sure how high to set the voltage: I believe the options are 2.6, 2.7, and 2.8. I suppose I could experiment with memtest86 (or similar) to try to determine the best answers, but I figured someone might be able to advise. Thanks! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 14, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 14, 2004 You are welcome to try anything you like, but the tested setting for this module are Cass 2-2-2-5 at DDR400 at 2.75 Volts. However with this MB I would install them in slots 2-3 with the FSB Jumper set to pins 2-3 furthest away from the CPU and set the timings to Cass 2-3-2-11 at 2.8 Volts for best performance and stability. oxon
I know I should know this, but when you quote timings of 2-3-2-11, which timing does the "3" refer to? I've tried a few different settings, and the memory has been working very well in all of them. Thanks again! :):
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 15, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 15, 2004 2-3-2-11 would translate to this: SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 11T
