Motoro
I have a bad stick of 512 valueselect. I've had it for about 3 months.I found the problem when my computer read constant currupt files when trying to install games. I know for sure its the ram because i've reformatted, tried 5 different drives and ect. I put the memory in a friends computer and his did the same thing and with his memory in my computer It worked fine. I bought 1 gb 2x512 valueselect I unfortunatly was unable to test what piece was bad because of my dual ddr. But In my friends comp we found what stick was bad. How can I get this stick replaced? Wired
FYI, dual channel is a property of the memory controller, not the memory. The sticks can be run by themselves.
Motoro
I thought there had to be two identicle ram on the MB inorder for it to work properly? would it work with only 1 stick, I dont think so?
Wired
Yes, it'll run with one stick just fine. Only RDRAM and some REALLY REALLY old memory, like 7 years ago, need to be in pairs to run.
