janrog20
I have a bunch of cmx512-3200 dimms and have recently tried sticking them in some ASUS barebone systems (specifically the T2-R delux). The problem I'm having is that the memory appears to be of two different types - version 1.1 and 1.2. Quite what the difference is I don't know (apart from one works and the other hangs when I power up the system) but this is proving a headache. This doesn't appear to be a bios fix so an RMA would be appreciated. It's for two of the version 1.2 dimms.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 13, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 13, 2004 Can you tell me the CPU speed & it's FSB and the model # of the system? Also please tell me the bios settings you had set for both CPU and memory? A search for TR-2 did not reveal any thing, other than Terminator 2 and they are available with AMD or Intel platform. But it could be as simple as bios setting to resolve the issue you have reported and know a few more details will help with that.

P4 3.2G - 800 fsb - Asus Terminator 2 (T2R-Deluxe) link to retailer: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=140734 >Also please tell me the bios settings you had set for both CPU and memory? Not too sure about this bit, I'm no expert, I just left all the settings to the factory default (most options appear automatically set and ghosted). Like I said, the computers work with the version 1.1 ram but not with the version 1.2 ram so clearly there is a difference. With version 1.2 installed the computers will not get to bios, they just hang as soon as they are started up.
