PC-2100 gone bye bye

System experienced random lock ups and reboots.

I took the system down to minimum configuration:

360 watt power supply

Genuine Intel 845PT mobo

Pentium P4 1.8GHz

ATI Radeon 8500

I alternated 2 sticks of Corsair 256MB PC-2100

#'s found on the sticks: CM64SD256-2100

013607

PC2100-25330-B1

and a TDK CD-R plugged into IDE0 as master so that I could boot from it. BIOS settings are default, there is no CPU overclocking or CAS adjustment available with this board.

I booted the system with Ultimate Boot CD V3.0 and ran several passes of Memtest86 and Windows memory diagnostic with no errors.

I then switched the DIMMs and tried to boot again, first two times failed with POST giving 3 shorts beeps (first 64K memory failure per Intel's website). third try it booted to Ultimate Boot CD menu.

I ran Memtest86 V3.1A and it found 118 errors in less than 2 passes. I then ran Windows Memory Diagnostic and 7 of the 8 tests failed on the first pass.

Please issue me an RMA # so I can get this stick swapped.

thanks.
