Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 9, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 9, 2004 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would make sure that you have the latest bios, especially if you have a 90nm CPU, you may need to use the latest Beta Bios. Latest bios is 1.009 Beta 4.

Freki82
lets guess that the ram is ok and the problems still occure while using setup defaults. what would be the next step? infact the ram is ok i tried 3 different rams until now... problem was still there.... :(: EDIT: Might there be a Problem with the Graphic Card? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 9, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 9, 2004 O.K. well there is not enough to know whats going on, so? You tested both modules one up and did they pass http://www.memtest.org? If they do then please try and install them in slots 2-4 and then go to bios setup and load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and set the timings manually as follows and see if the system will let you install windows. CAS Latency CL=2.5 Row Cycle Time tRC Bios Default Row Refresh Cyc Time tRFC Bios Default Ras# to CAS# delay tRCD 3 Row to Row delay Bios Default Min Ras# Active Time tRAS 8 Row Precharge Time tRP 3 Write Recovery Time Bios Default Write to Read delay Bios Default Read to Write Delay Bios Default Refresh Period tREF Bios Default Enable 2T Timing Enabled Then test the system with http://www.memtest.org and make sure it's stable! Freki82
hello Ram Guy, i am just checking it, memtest was founding not one lonely error, so the RAM is alright, i will check the system further on... but i think its a problem with the asus A8V and the Winchester CPU`s infact The Asus A8V was made for Clawhammer and Newcastle, I have read several postings which mentioned the same problem, freezings and so on... i think it might be a mem controller Problem... i ll never again buy a via controlled Motherboard :(: If something changed i will let you know, but i think i will buy a new mainboard soon. Because i dont think that the Corsair RAM is the weak part in the row.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 9, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 9, 2004 Please make sure the modules are in slots 2-4 and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts. If that does not solve the problem, I would maybe try replacing the CPU before the MB, because the memory controller in in the CPU not the chipset with AMD64.
