efalconer
Hi, I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find a clear enough answer to my question. I have a Shuttle SN41G2V2, which does not have the ultra chipset, so it only runs at 333Mhz. I currently have two 256Mb PC2700 chips in there, and a Barton 2600+ processor. I'd really like to upgrade to 1GB (dual channel still), but I'm finding dual channel PC2700 kits are hard to come by now. Plus I'm not really to happy about investing in something that will potentially be only used in this computer. I was wondering if I can use a faster memeory, like PC3200. I know it won't run in synch with the processor, but will it work and be stable, and is the performance difference really that great? I figure the extra memory might trade off the disadvantage a bit. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 9, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 9, 2004 Yes, they should run great, just you may have to set the memory Frequency manually.
