mysterfix
Hi All, I have my PC3200C2Pro running 1:1 at 240fsb on my a64 system with timmings of 2.5 3 3 10 2T and yes this is at 2.6v. I've tried upping the voltage to get it to go hirer but it doesn't seem to like anything other than 2.6v. My question is does anyone have any ideas on how I can get a little more out of it. I'm only shooting for 245fsb 2T or 240fsb at 1T. Also does anyone know what chips were used in these modules they're v2.1.
Yellowbeard
Could you list your complete system specs? Also list all of your bios settings as relating to RAM, CPU, and voltages. I have no idea what ICs are in the modules you have. RAM GUY or someone may be able to provide that info. Mike.
mysterfix
Hi, My specs: DFI NF3 250gb A64 3000+@2.4ghz 1.75v Thermalright XP-120 Corsairs Twinx 1024 PC3200C2Pro v2.1@240HTT 3 3 3 10 1T 2.6V 1:1 BFG 6800GT 410/1120 Samsung sata 2x120gb Raid 0 SoundBlaster 5.1 Xgamer Samsung 48x cdrom Opterite 52x32x52 cdrw Aspire 500w Modded psu Ram is all set to auto except for timings. New timings at 1T only ran stable for 2 1/2 hours on prime95. Voltage increase only seems to make ram more unstable. Only ran 54 min. on prime at 2.7v. Yellowbeard
Well, I will of course defer to RAM GUY for more info but, you are WAY beyond the rated speed of that RAM. Unless you crank a LOT more voltage thru it (not a good idea and may void warranty) you will probably not get much, if any more speed out of it. If you are wanting to OC to the speeds you are at, or faster, you may be better off with the PC3200XL or the PC4400C2.5. Mike.
mysterfix
Well after a little bit of trial and error I finally got what I wanted. :D: I dropped the voltage down to 2.5v and to my amazement, it worked! I am now running at DDR480 2.5 3 3 10 1T, absolutely stable! I was even able to get it to run at DDR496 by relaxing the timings to 3 4 4 10 1T. This is the best memory I've ever owned, hands down the best!
