Bad Twinx Modules

I’ve had these modules for about a year and until about a month ago had no second system to compare with.

This is what I’ve got:

Platinum Series Twinx CMX512-2700LLPT

Other writing on the modules:

XMS2705v1.2

0329007

XMS2700 512MB 333MHz 2225-T1

The original system I built for this has a MSI K7N2G motherboard. CPU is the AMD Athlon XP 2600+.

System Performance: Manual

CPU FSB: 166

CPU Interface: Normal

FSB/DRAM Ratio: 1:1

Memory Timing: By SPD

These next four settings were set by the Memory timing by SPD:

T-(RAS): 7

T-(RCD): 3

T-(RP): 3

CAS latency: 2.5

I kept having lock-ups. I ran MemTest-86 v3.0 and got tons of errors in test 3, 4 and 5.

I found that when I slowed the CPU FSB to 133 (which also changed my processor to a 2000) I had fewer errors and almost no lock-ups. And a slower computer.

I recently purchased a FIC IC-VG61 bare bones “Ice Cube” system. Crucial memory…

I ran MemTest-86 on this new system and got no errors. I swapped in my Corsair and tons of errors.

I then put the new crucial memory in my original MSI system and no errors.

Please let me know what I need to do exchange this pair of bad modules.

Thanks

Steve
