Atomic Mitten
have 2 modules of XMS 3200 CL2 DDR 400, They will not work together at all no matter which slots I use. My retailer refuses to swap them for the same rev versions. I wasn't aware that different rev versions wouldn't work. My retailer says that as guarantee time has elapsed they can't re-sell them. I have a rev 1.2 and a rev 3.1 modules, what am I supposed to do , they cost alot of money in the UK and I'm really disappointed. I have an ASUS P4 C 800 E-Deluxe rev 2.0 MOBO running a Northwood 3.0 GHZ CPU. I think customers should be made aware when buying your stuff about different revs not working together.I wasted alot of time trying to find out why my comp wouldn't start up.The last thing I suspected was bad memory from Corsair. What can I do with them ?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 9, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 9, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; CMX512-3200C2 Advanced/Jumper Free AI over clocking: Manual CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 MHz Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.75 Volts System performance: Auto AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced/Chipset Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 7T SDRAM Burst Length: 8 Performance Acceleration Mode: Auto USB Legacy Support: Disabled All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! Atomic Mitten
My computer will not post even with your suggested settings. If I use each module separately there is no problem and my comp posts. Together they will not work.
Atomic Mitten
Any update please on my Issue ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 15, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 15, 2004 If the modules will run and pass http://www.memtest.org one at a time, but when you install them in dual channel the system will not post. That would suggest a problem with the MB/Chipset and or a power problem. I would try and RMA the MB, and or test your CPU and memory in another system if you can. Atomic Mitten
Both the Motherboard and CPU have been replaced. There is a conflict with the different revs of your memory sticks. I would like a replacement for one or the other revs so that both are identical. It isn't my Mobo or CPU.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 16, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 16, 2004 If you have two different version of our memory module, please set the timings at 2.5/3/3/7 with a 2.85 volts.
Atomic Mitten
You already said that at the beginning of this thread ??? As I said before I tried your settings and my comp will not post at those settings at all. I have run Memtest on both modules they seem to be ok singly but will not work when run together, I also put them in my other computer again together they will not post. I havn't got a clue as to why this is happening, there is obviously something incompatible between the two sticks.

Atomic Mitten
Well thanks RAM guy for all your help. I contacted one of your customer service reps, she informed me that my Modules hadn't been received, so I was about to put in a compensation claim to the Royal Mail in England. Luckily it was pouring down with rain this morning so I delayed going to the Post office. UPS van arrived with my 2 new identical RAM sticks ? I guess Christmas messed something up. Anyway I got them but there was no note saying what was wrong with the old ones, I would really like to know that ? Also in Everest Home Edition Application it shows the new modules as 2400 instead of 3200 any ideas as to why ? They do run together although the Memory read/write benchmarks are somewhat slower than originally. They are set at 2-2-2-6.
