Bob3
I have 4 sticks of Corsair CM766S256 GX/S, I was wondering if/where there was any way to do a reverse lookup on the critters to see what motherboards they'd work on. Yah, I know it's sorta backwards, but what'd you expect from a Linux fan... :D: tanx in advance ...
Wired
http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/servers.html#rsdr http://compatible.corsairmemory.com/modelsearch.aspx?ramid=129 They don't have that stick in the Compatiblity Lookup page, but they do have the 512 version. The above link has the 2 motherboards that are deemed compatible, albeit they're Socket As. I don't think any older sockets are in the system. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 6, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 6, 2004 It would really be better just to plan on new memory, as any system these would be compatible with would also be out of date.
Bob3
It would really be better just to plan on new memory, as any system these would be compatible with would also be out of date. Yah, I know. If we were running Micro$oft that'd be the clencher, but with Linux it's a whole different ballgame. ;): I've already got a half dozen machines here that will outperform it, just looking for a way to dispose of an excess of spare parts cluttering up the place. Looking at the "Memory Finder" page & plugging in the front half of the numbers "CM766S256" it shows a few slot 1 MBs, one of which is the ASUS P3B-F. It's enough to get me wondering.
