Carlo75
Hey As I have posted before I have a Value ram pc3200 module of 512mb I wanted to install a heat sink for it, but as I see the Ram has the VALUE RAM sticker pasted on the ram chips, would there be any problem if I tear the sticker up? warranty voided? I´ve allready bought the ram sinks and to have a direct contact with ram chips I must tear it but I wanted to know if the warranty will be voided Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 6, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 6, 2004 Please don't remove the label, as that would VIOD the Warranty. Just install them over the label and you should be fine.

But for better thermal conduction wouldnt it be beter for on chip contact?? besides the heat sinks have some sort of thermal tape on them... Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 7, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2004 Yes it would but that will VOID the warranty. In addition the difference would be nominal! But you are welcome to do what you like they are your modules.

I dont wan to void my warranty, nor I want to change my ram module, I would have to peel the thermal tape that the heat sink comes with. seems there is no other way out thankx anyway
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 10, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 10, 2004 Well if you install them you should never remove the H/S even if you send them in for RMA, just send then with the H/S. We would not return the H/S, but that way the modules would still be replaced should there be a problem.
