jefstix
Back in July I purchased a new rig and it has been running fine. Included in the setup were a matched set of CMX512-3200C2 (XMS3202v4.1 0424053-11) A week or so ago my system started running really unstable. Specifically lockups in EQ2. I worked from the driver side (because drivers are typically an issue with SOE games), and while working that I encountered multiple blue-screens. I just decided it was time for a wipe. I attempted multiple installs of Win2k and WinXP and always had problems (file errors, stop errors, lockups). I started checking into things and found that one of my two dimms appears to be bad. I tested with memtest.org using one dimm at a time in slot1 on default settings. One dimm tests fine, the other errors out badly. Running just the one good stick, I have XP up and running stably From the faq I see I'm supposed to contact Tech support. Since the purchase was made back in July, I'm not sure I can still go back to the retailer (mwave.com). What is my next step? Thanks

jefstix
Asus K8VSE Deluxe running an Athlon 64 3200+ I adjusted the settings for the RAM to match those I found in a post by Ramguy for the 3200C2 memory, and the DIMM still errors badly. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 6, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 6, 2004 Please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and set the timings manually to Cass 2.5-3-3-6 and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts. But getting failures on both modules would suggest there may be some other problem, I would maybe try and test them in another system to be sure. jefstix
Sorry if it was unclear, but one of the two DIMMs is working just fine. I did use those settings (found them in another of your posts) and tested things a second time and got the same results... one DIMM is fine, the other is bad.
