Gladimir
Back in March 2004 I purchased two pair of CMX512-3200LLPT two make 2GB of dual-channel memory on an Asus P4C800 Deluxe motherboard. The computer began having intermittent (but fatal) system problems under load, which led me to suspect the memory. I set the BIOS to "fail-safe" defaults and ran Memtest-86 v3.2 with all four modules in the system. The test resulted in various errors. I removed all the modules from the system and then began testing one module at a time in memory slot DIMM_A1 (first) in single-channel mode (of course). Three modules tested fine through two passes each. However, one module failed early on during the first pass. I restarted this test which resulted in the same types of failures with that module. If Corsair will RMA the module, do I need to send in a "pair" and receive back a "pair" to maintain my dual-channel compatibility?

Gladimir
Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? AMI BIOS Version 08.00.09 BIOS Date 09/02/2003 BIOS Configuration: Advanced JumperFree Configuration - PerformanceMode = AUTO Advanced JumperFree Configuration - AI Overclock Tuner = AUTO Advanced Configure DRAM Timing by SPD = ENABLED Advanced DRAM Idle Timer = AUTO Advanced DRAM Refresh Rate = AUTO RAM Settings During Test: RAM: 200 Mhz (DDR400) CAS: 2.5-3-2-6 I would really like to speed up this process. If you know of a setting under which one Corsair memory module would fail and three others pass, please let me know and I will check that setting and re-run the test. Thank you for your response. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 6, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 6, 2004 Please set AI Overclock tuner to manual and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.85 Volts and set the timings manually to Cass 2.5-3-3-7 and then Disable legacy USB and test with http://www.memtest.org to make sure its stable.
