kadreher
New system consisting of, Asus P4P800-E Deluxe (BIOS version 1003 according to information on the board?) Intel Pentium 4 Processor Prescott 3.2GHz ATI 9800 Pro 256MB Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2 System would not POST, the board would power off after a few seconds and no error codes. I tried switching the memory to different slots, tried them singly, and removed the board from the case and with a different video card (TI4600), all with the same results. With out the memory installed the board continues to run giving the memory error code beeps. I then tried the memory in another working system that I had assembled for a friend. Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 (Intel 875P chipset) Intel Pentium 4 Processor Northwood 3.0GHz This system would not POST either, just give the continuous beep code for memory error. This was always the same results regardless of witch slots were used or if just single modules were installed. I RMA the modules to the vender (not a good experience so far) because I thought at this point the modules were defective. The vender said they tested the memory and “to be working fine with no problem found” Their test was done on an ASUS P4P800SE, Intel Pentium 4 Processor Northwood 3.0GHz and showed the latency timings were 3.0-3-3-8 Is this memory “good” and just “bad” for these components? Shouldn’t this work with this board or should I move up to TWINX1024-3200XL? Thanks in advance for any help or advise you can offer.
Wired
The SPD is set to 3-3-3-8, however they are meant to do 2-3-3-6 on that platform.
