Possible Bad Stick XMS 512mb

Recommended Posts

Ok I'm pretty new to all this ram talk but I was told to post here with my ram problem.

My problem started a few weeks ago with my system rebooting for no reason. It would just shut off and turn on every so often. Quite annoying while working on a school project.

I was told to run a ram diagnostics program and I ended up getting many bad sectors popping up. So I just purchased a new matched 512mb pair. and have the bad single 512mb stick out and I havn't had any problems so far. So I can only assume this stick is at fault.

I'm would like to know if I could return this stick (and if it is bad) pay extra to get a matched pair back? If not a straight trade in would be nice.

the assumed bad stick has all this written on it . CMX15-3200C2, 400Mhz, XMS3202v2.2, 032427, CL2

My motherboard is a ASUS P4G8X Deluxe with a Intel P4 2.4 cpu

Graphics Cards. ATI Radeon 9200pci and radeon 9700Pro agp

My system is all with defult settings.

Any Help would be much appreciated. ~Jeremy
