Devrim
Blocking CorsairHID.exe in firewall causes high CPU usage Steps to reproduce: 1. Install CUE 2. Block CorsairHID.exe in Firewall 3. Reboot system 4. Open up taskmgr 5. Watch CorsairHID.exe flip his ****, prolly stuck in a loop. 14% CPU usage on an i7-3770K. On default CorsairHID.exe checks for new versions on startup but seems to not have a proper time-out system.
franstam
hi, i am also facing this issue. apparently there is no timeout and also no way to prevent update checking for corsairhid.exe maybe a simple "do not check for updates" option would be nice, thanks. Inheritance
Does this happen if you boot and there isnt a internet connection for CUE to check for an update? or only when you block its internet access?
Devrim
Does this happen if you boot and there isnt a internet connection for CUE to check for an update? or only when you block its internet access? I turned my LAN adapter off and restart CUE. CPU usage was around 0% to 3%. Only blocking it with a firewall seems to make the CPU usage increase. Inheritance
Not yet. They might add in an option to disable checking for updates in the future.
Corsair Employees Corsair James Posted August 20, 2015 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 20, 2015 Hm, I thought we had resolved this in a previous software update. I'll pass this bug along.
Devrim
Hi, This bug is still present in the software. Can this get looked at? e: eh it seems there is a new CUE, does the old one still get updates or is it dead?
Inheritance
Hi, This bug is still present in the software. Can this get looked at? e: eh it seems there is a new CUE, does the old one still get updates or is it dead? The older CUE is not receiving updates. This issue has been closed due to the fact that it is not deemed a bug, and rather user interference.
