dijon
single channel mode for this memory runs fine for days on end. dual channel gives me random reboots, i haven't changed anything in the timing section of my bios. my mobo is an Intel D875PBZ and i'm using 2 sticks of CMX512-3200C2 for 1gig total. my powersupply is running fine 500watt enermax. (has been checked for output) i see all these timing and voltage tweaks here and i've read the 'what timing should my ram be at' page but i don't really understand it. if you've got different timings for me to try out, could you put what the numbers are for next to them (tCL, tRCD etc..) as i'm not sure my bios has them all in the same order. my current settings are: SDRAM Freq: 400mhz - tCL 3.0 - tRCD 3 - tRP 3 - tRASmin 8 - Mem Refresh Cycle Time 12 Clocks - Mem R/W delay 2 clocks - Mem R/W timing - 6 clocks - DDR voltage 2.625 volts thanks for any help you can give me. dijon
dijon
well, i think i just killed my computer. my motherboard had a 'manual: aggressive' preset setting which i decided to try out to see if it helped with stability issues. i can't even boot up. black screen, clicking noises. can't get into bios to change it back. man i feel dumb, that was a rookie move. is there anything i can do get it back? Wired
There should be a reset jumper on your motherboard, or you can just take out the CMOS battery for 24 hours. Also, what is the version of each stick?
dijon
thanks, i got the info from intel - i need to get a new bios installed. no prob except for i've got no floppy drive. well, i guess i'll spend then 10 bucks and get one. the sticks are version 3.1 once the bios is back i'm not sure i'll care about the extra performace of dual channel mode! but if you have any pointers i'm listening! dij

Wired
It currently does not have an Intel section, however that may change in the future with user inout. For now I'd post it in the General Motherboard section: http://www.houseofmobos.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
