Tacreno
I bought a stick of corsair a while back when I first got my system... now I decided to upgrade to 1GB but I have a timing problem and system halts specs: Asus K8V Deluxe 1x 512MB XMS3200C2PT v4.2 1x 512MB XMS3200C2PT v1.2 Athlon 64 3200+ I tried manually changing the timings, but I can only do 1 stick at a time, cause with 2 sticks the system halts and says "DIMM Timing Mismatch" and I can't enter the bios. I changed the timing to 2.5-3-3-6 and got the same error, I tried 2.5-3-3-7 and I got the same error... I need help because I thought I was buying the same ram here, and I ended up getting a newer version that is not compatible.
CandyKid
You could try running the VDimm at 2.9 volts and see if that doesn't help any, but I doubt it... Personally, I'd contact RAM GUY (I'll make sure he get's this thread) and see if he won't let you RMA the old module so you can get a newer one back (they'll usually send out rev 4's as replacements currently). Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 1, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 1, 2004 I am sorry but this MB like many that are on the market now cannot have miss-matched memory in the system. I would suggest you find another use for these modules and just get Twins1024-3200C2 for best performance and compatibility.
Tacreno
so are you saying I can't rma or anything, cause i can't find another use for this, I only have 1 athlon 64 system, lol please help me because I just paid 120 bucks for this stick of ram to get it and find it doesn't work. I even got the stuff that was compatible with my mobo! or am I just screwed?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 1, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 1, 2004 You can submit an RMA, but normally we will replace whats sent in with the same part. If you want to do that I would suggest you send an email to warranty@corsairmemory.com and request the modules be replaced with 2 modules that are the same revision. But you would need to send both modules. Please send us a email with a copy of the form or all of your info name address and phone# and the Module part# and copy the link to this post and email it to Rma@corsairmemory.com. If after 1 day or 24 hours excluding weekends you do not get the rma please email the same to warranty@corsairmemory.com and we will help to resolve it. Tacreno
ok, I will take that into consideration... I don't really need to send them both, just need to send one back to recieve a module that has the same revision as the one I keep I can send either the 4.2 to receive a 1.2 or I can send the 1.2 to recieve a 4.2 either way is ok with me, but I can't really afford the down time by sending both sticks... let me know... thanks for the help
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 2, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 2, 2004 Well there is no way we can specify the revision and the reason I suggested you send them both. However, it would be better for you to find another use for the old module and send the new one back and just get a Twinx set for best performance.
