sandmanx
I've got 3 sticks of Value Select ram (part #:VS256MB400) that are unstable in any motherboard I've tried them in. I'm currently using 2 of them in an Asus A7N8X/VM400 and the machine is constantly crashing, which it did not when I was using Corsair XMS3000(testing for stability) or Crucial pc2100 256MB sticks. I've tried different combos of all 3 of these sticks in 3 different Asus A7N8X/VM400 boards and 3 different Abit NV7m boards, and they all crash at various times when these ram sticks are used. Any suggestions? Lot # is: 0405110

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 3, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 3, 2004 Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
sandmanx
Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? Thanks for the reply. The cpu is a Barton core 2600+ which runs at 1.91GHz. It's a 333 FSB processor. The bios is very limited as far as options, but cpu-z reports memory timings of 2.5-3-3-7. Thanks. Wired
Are you running the memory @ 400 or 333? If 400, try 333 as running the mem async of the FSB can cause problems.
sandmanx
The memory is running at 333 dual channel mode.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 6, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 6, 2004 Do you have an option to set the Dim Voltage? If so please set it to 2.7 Volts, and please set the timings manually, even though they are running corectly setting them manually will sometimes solve this with this MB and or many of the ASUS -XX MB's. If not we will be happy to replace them. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
