Quikslvr
ok i bought 1gb of 3200c2pt 2x512 twinX, then a few weeks later i got another stick of 512 3200c2pt, when i installed it i would get errors, reboots all sorts of stuff. I am guessing it is because the first two sticks are matched so the 3rd doesnt want to work with them. Is there a way to make it function problem free with out any performance loss or should i send the 3rd stick back? My computer has the following ram listed above Asus K8N mobo Amd 64 3000+ XFX 6600GT WesternDigital Raptor 74gb Audigy 2 thanks for any help guys Kyle
Wired
what's the version of each stick? Tried one of the twinx sticks and the single stick together? It could be the version, or the timings, or the board may just not like 3 dual sided sticks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 1, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 1, 2004 Yes, if you want to run at DDR400 you should not use more than 2 modules, according to the CPU white papers from AMD. And most of the manuals suggest DDR333 with more than one double sided modules.
