Error 116 Intel motherboard

I have the Corsair VS1GBKIT533D2 DDR2 512 MB (x2) in a Intel D925XCV motherboard with an P4 3.4 Ghz processor. On my first boot up of the new system I get an "error 116". What does that mean? Does anyone know what that error is? Is it because my memory is not compatible? This error occurs after the motherboard detects the two sticks of memory both in the correctly matched "slot 0". Any suggestions or help would be greatly appriciated.

Please make sure that you have the latest bios from Intel and then you should be able to set thw Dim Voltage to 1.9 Volts and I would set the timings manually to the tested settings which you can get from the link in my signature.

Update:

I'm still on with Intel tech support, but I'm not going anywhere fast.

The first human reply I got was to reset the BIOS... my question was, "What is ERROR 116?"

...Anyways, I've written them again, hopefully I'll get a second tier this time and be able to get a solid response from them.

End of the line, here's what they'll give me:

The Error code 116 refers to a System board read/write error, most

likely it refers to the IDE controller in your Intel® Desktop Board

925XCV, there is no further information about this error that we can provide

you with.

To me, this means a bad board or a bad hard drive... maybe even a bad HDD cable, might want to get a new one just to make sure.

So you are all aware I was able to determine what the error was and I now have it fixed. I am using serial ATA to connect my hard disk to the motherboard. Error 116 is indeed a system board read/write error. The serial ATA cable for the main hard disk has to be connected to a certain predetermined slot on the motherboard. On start up the hard disk was recognized because the serial number appeared, plus I know what the sound of a faild hard drive was so initially I did not even think that it could be the hard disk.

So to make a long story short I pluged the Serial ATA cable into the correct slot on the motherboard, and I now do not get any errors! Thanks to all who searched for a solution!

After even further research I determined that error 116 will occur if the IDE cable is connected to two CD/DVD drives and for example...if both pins were set on master it would cause an error 116. Just for anyone down the road who may have this problem.
