Micronova
I have the 1024 TwinX 3200C2PRO XMS3202v2.1 Mobo - Shuttle AN50R CPU - AMD64 3200 Mem config - DIMM1 & DIMM2 or DIMM1 & DIMM3 (doesn't matter) Mem Timings - 2-3-3-6 or 2.5-3-3-6 or even tried 2.5-3-3-8 (doesn't matter) Mem Voltage - default or 2.7v (doesn't matter) The problem I'm having is sometimes on bootup to windows it will restart before windows is totally booted. If I am lucky to get it to boot into windows it will freeze up in applications or restart. I have tried using just one stick and found that with one stick it will work fine and with the other it will crash right away. I have ran memtest86 and it faults on test #8 (ones & zeros) process 00000000-4 everytime and will just freeze up. I believe that I have covered all my bases on this issue and would like to have your input on this on wether you have something else that I have missed or if this warrants a request for a RMA. Thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 28, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 28, 2004 Please make sure by testing the modules one at a time if you have not done so. And I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts as well. If you still get errors with just one module, then please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! Micronova
I have tried using just one stick and found that with one stick it will work fine and with the other it will crash right away. I have used just one stick at a time and with one of the modules it crashes right away and if I swap modules with the suspected good one it doesn't crash and passes memtest86. That is what I was trying to get accross in the last message but didn't quite type it that way LOL... Sorry about that... My only other question I have is that seeing as these are matched pairs, do I send both of them in for RMA or just the one that is failing the memtest? I would assume you need these as a pair correct??
Wired
It's recommended to send TwinX memory in as a pair.
