CUE 16.8M Color Statement

Yes, okay. I have noticed the flickering but it depends on the type of animation it seems. The more that is changing on the keyboard at the same time the worse it is, it seems.

I kind of just like static, anyway... I'm certainly not willing to pay twice as much for flicker free animations with extra colours. Still it is pretty ghetto. I find the lack of the extra colour space isn't even really noticeable unless you're staring at the keyboard doing a blend/fade.

I found this topic through Google, as I was looking for an explanation what this option meant in CUE (this 16.8 mode).

So, there is one weird thing about this.

I use a Strafe RGB keyboard - and the option was "OFF" by default.

Enabled it, looks perfect, everything ok.

But why is it OFF on even Corsair Strafe RGB keyboards?

I think Corsair should enable it for every Strafe users.

Theoretically, no one should have flicker on these keyboards...

As zheren said that setting does not apply to the STRAFE RGB, unlike the KXX RGB series the STRAFE has a different/new LED controller which can handle 16,8m colors with no flicker.

No it's not.

It was a brand new Strafe RGB keyboard.

Plugged it in. Installed the CUE software.

It said I have a new firmware, it flashed, loaded up software.

Then I started putting in new profiles, etc.

Only then I noticed the option, started searching about it on the internet, and so on, and so on. So the option is "OFF" (unticked), even for Strafe users, unless they tick it in.

Maybe it is a bug in the software, I don't know, but I think it should be on for new users, because they miss out on the colors otherwise.

As we have already mentioned that option does NOTHING for STRAFE users. Be it OFF or ON it won't affect anything. STRAFE will always use 16,8m colors at any given time.

Is the swap out / money back just for US or also EU? My box didn't say 16.8 million colors but I'm pretty annoyed by the fact that a color transition is basically just a few steps instead of a smooth transition. If I enable 16.8 color mode in CUE and make a color scheme with solid colors and a Type Lighting (Key) mode, all the LED flicker when I press a key and the color transitions back to the original color. Even the ones that didn't change flicker making it so the whole keyboard flickers like crazy. I bought the K65 RGB because I thought it was a step up from my Razer (which it should be), but the LED thing is a huge let down in my opinion.

You will need to contact Corsair Support for the details, but yes you should be able to get a refund.

Would it be possible to get a replacement keyboard instead of a refund?

I am currently using a K95 RGB with blue switches and I am very satisfied with it (except for the 16.8M color thing...).

So for me, all I want is the keyboard I have right now, but with full color support :sigh!:

Idk that is something you will have to discuss with Corsair Support. Dont wait to long, im pretty sure there is a cut off for getting refunds or replacements.

I bought my current keyboard last autumn, but I should probably contact the support so that we can come to a possible solution as soon as possible! :)

Im 99% sure your way past the deadline for them to refund you or exchange it. But hit them up and see what they can do.

Depends what country you are in and thier consumer laws, one of the greats benifits of the UK consumer laws is the sales of goods act. And seeing this was miss sold in the UK you could probebly always have the right to get your money back. As it is a manufacturing default.

Hi there!!

Just bought my k95 rgb a couple of days ago. I have the latest version of firmware and the latest version of CUE. I just noticed today the flickering issue when 18,6m is enabled. It's like seeing the keyboard being confused and changing the pink to magenta etc. But this happens with flickering. The flickering is pretty visible. I am not happy with having 2 days old keyboard and noticing issues.

Have any recommendation on what should i do? Besides turning of the 18,6m color option. I know that i can't really see any difference but the thing is, why is something wrong with my new keyboard?

I tryed contacting their support about this matter (k70 claiming 16.8m colors flickering) but never got an answer. It's been months of waiting and the keyboard is about to get out of warranty.

Now I also own a K70 LUX and the difference is abysmal and made me rethink about this.
