kinik
Hi, I am using ASUS K8N motherbord with AMD Athlon 64 3000Mhz Cpu. I have Corsair VS512MB400 512MB DDR400 PC3200 type memory with this system but system started giving minor errors and then crushed in two weeks. I formatted my pc and re-installed XP but it last in one week this time. Then I used memtest86 to test memory at it gives me a lot of errors. Your webpage says this memory is compatible with my MB so I don't know if its the compability problem or its only the memory I that have has mulfunctions. I use latest version of bios with default settings, such as; Memclock Mode- Auto Memclock Value- 200 Cas Latency - Auto DRam Ras to Cas Delay - Auto Dram Ras Prechange Time - Auto Dram Active Time - Auto What could be the problem? ibrahim
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 23, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 23, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then set the dim voltage to 2.7 Volts with the modules in slots 1-3 or 2-3 and set the timings manually to Cass 2.5-3-3-8: Cas Latency - 2.5 DRam Ras to Cas Delay - 3 Dram Ras Prechange Time - 3 Dram Active Time - 8 Then please test the system with http://www.memtest.org to make sure it's stable! kinik
I made those changes but still memtest is giving me lots of errors. And yes my bios is up-to-date. Right now I am using my friends' old pc2700 memory (samsung) it works OK and gives no error with memtest. ibrahim

kinik
Hi, I returned my memory to Corsair and they send me a new one. I tested this new memory with memtest and it found 5 errors (even after changing bios configuration to 2.5,3,3,8). Do you think these errors would couse me any problem like the one I sent to Corsair (memstes was showing more than 30,000 errors for my old memory)? ibrahim
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 14, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 14, 2004 What do you have the Dim Voltage to set to, I would try 2.7 Volts and if you have more than one module, they should be in slots 1-3 or 2-3. Also what Bios version do you have on that MB?
