abeachy
Mainboard: GA7DX F7 CPU: AMD 2400 OS: XPpro Award BIOS v6 .00PG sees and correctly counts memory. System just keeps restarting after a blue screen error that flashes to fast to read. Tried timing settings by "AUTO" and limited manual settings. System runs solid with 2x256, each stick from a different vendor. If it means anything Memtest86+ counted over 10000 errors before I stopped it. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 23, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 23, 2004 Please make sure you have the latest BIOS installed for your MB and load optimized defaults settings, and try the following BIOS settings; CPU Freq: 133 MHz (266 FSB) System Performance: User Define Memory Frequency: 125% Resulting Frequency: 166 MHz (333 FSB) Memory Timing: Optimal/Auto/SPD/Enabled DDR Reference Voltage: 2.7 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue
abeachy
Installed latest BIOS version F8. Tried booting with CPU Host/PCI Clock set at 133/33MHz and "Auto". Tried booting with fail-safe defaults and optimized defaults. Only voltage options are ClkGen Spread Spectrum(enable or disable) and CPU Hosts/PCI Clock, no option to change DDR reference voltage or memory frequency. Symptoms after each change are the same, windows starts loading then quick blue screen and reboot. Ran memtest86 v3.1a, after four passes it reported 69650 errors. System is solid with other memory installed.
