Lian Warrior
I have just installed the new twinx 1024 xms pro3200xl memory. i hoped it would enable me to run my 3200 barton at 200x11 multiplier on my A7N8X Deluxe board. I flashed it to 1007 rev a while ago now. i get this blue screen when trying a new install of xp. A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. jsteel44
Would up the dimm voltage to 2.8v for starters. Before doing that however, see if it does the same thing at 166Mhz, to verify that its actually the 200mhz bus causing the issue. What board revision is it btw? anything before v2.0 is not really guranteed 200MHz fsb, even with the 1007 BIOS. I've had a similar problem with an older revision however, and BIOS 1004 did the trick to get 200 stable for some odd reason and the client has not reported instability. Lian Warrior
set cpu ext freq to 200mhz multiple sett = 11.0x multiplier AUTO system performance = Optimal memory freq = Auto fsb spread spectrum to 0.50%. tried enabled and disabled!! reboots but sometimes tries to load into windows and sometimes i get black screen asking me to start windows normally or load last good settings that worked. If i set to cpu ext freq to 166, then the comp boots into windows only if the memory timings are set by speed. If i set the memory timings to auto i get no boot and a dead comp fsb spread spectrum to 0.50%. tried enabled and disabled!! I've tried user defining system performance and setting a 100% ratio, still dead system & no boot. User defined memory timings, even set to aggressive. what could be my most likely problem out of the mem, cpu, mobo, psu!!! ??
jsteel44
My bets on the mobo, if you can, test the other components in another system.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 28, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 28, 2004 Can you tell me the revision of your MB and what do you have the FSB jumper set to?
Lian Warrior
The motherboard PCB is rev 2.0 The jumper settings are nearest the cpu fan which i think is default 1-2 pins fsb333/266.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 29, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 29, 2004 Please make sure that you have set the jumper setting from 1-2 to 2-3, and put the DIMM on slot 2&3 as well and with the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/Optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200XL CPU Freq: 200 MHz (400 FSB) System Performance: User Define Memory Frequency: 100% Resulting Frequency: 200 MHz (400 FSB) Memory Timing: User Define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 2T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5T DDR Reference Voltage: 2.8 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
