Mike89
Currently I am running 4 256 meg sticks of Corsair PC3500 at fsb 200, at 2-2-2-5 memory timings on my Abit IC7 Max3. I am thinking of taking out 2 of those sticks and replacing them with 2 512 meg sticks of Corsair 3200XL and still running the 4 sticks at the same 2-2-2-5 timings. So now total ram would be 1.5 gig. My question is would there be any problem with the dual channel issue?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 22, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 22, 2004 I would suggest you keep what you have, as you may have to run the system at a slower setting, and the difference between 1.0 and 1.5 Gig would not be woth the loss in performance. Mike89
Well I went ahead and got the 2 512 sticks of Corsair PC3200XL. Popped one in dimm slot 1, put 1 256 PC 3500 in dimm 2, 1 512 in Dimm 3 and the other 256 in dimm 4. All is good, still runs at 2-2-2-5 timings! Very nice Corsair!
