EdLima
Hey Ramguy, I have a pair of Corsair Platinum Series TwinX 400MHz DDR 512MB sticks that I bought from Fry's last year that I'm pretty certain have gone bad. With them installed, I get consistent reproducible hangups in Windows XP SP1 right on the desktop, in Internet Explorer 6, Windows Media Player 10, Cakewalk SONAR 3, Half-Life 2, and Star Wars: Battlefront so far. Upon removal, 100% of all system hangs and lockups are gone. It's a matched pair, XMS 3200, part number CMX512-3200LLPT. Mobo is a Gigabyte GA-8IK1100. Let me know how to proceed with an RMA for warranty exchange. Thanks, Ed Lima ed@edlima.com
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 19, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 19, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200XL Advanced Chipset Features (Ctrl + F1) DRAM Clock: 400 MHz Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 2T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T SDRAM Burst Length: 8 SDRAM Bank Interleave: 4/Auto/Enabled SDRAM Command Rate: 1T Frequency Voltage Control CPU Freq: 200 Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts (+.2) AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI 9200 or 9600 then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
