Help,

I am getting a "Chip Kill ECC error" with the following system;

MSI K1-1000S2 (MS-9245)

2 - Corsair Register ECC DDR 1024MB CM74SD1024RLP-2700/S

I believe that one of the memory modules is bad!

I have installed the two memory modules in two different MSI K1-1000 systems with the same error. The company I purchased the modules from has checked them in a Xenon system running windows XP with no problems. MSI's website http://cweb.msi.com.tw/program/products/server/svr/pro_svr_rcm.php?UID=510 list this module as the correct module for the system, please help resolve this problem.

Thanks

Please test the module one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! If you get an error during the testing, then there is no point going any further on the test; I would suggest we get it replace. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
