Revalis ENai
I have a stick of VS512MB PC3200 that is causing a bunch of errors with memtest, and it randomly reboots my system when I try to use the memory. I am running a Shuttle AN35 Ultra with default bios, and Athlon 3200XP 400fsb. Is there a way to get a replacement?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 17, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 17, 2004 I have no problem replacing the modules, but before we can go to that step; can you tell me the settings that you have on your BIOS for this memory module, and in addition do you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard by any chance? If not. Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/Optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; VS512MB400 CPU Freq: 200 MHz (400 FSB) System Performance: User Define Memory Frequency: 100% Resulting Frequency: 200 MHz (400 FSB) Memory Timing: User Define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T DDR Reference Voltage: 2.7 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
Revalis ENai
I updated my bios, and adjusted the setting accordingly. Tested with memtest and still got a load of errors after 2 tests. I tried to use the ram anyway, but it reboots my system when I try to play games.
