mrformer
I have Corsair memory module with the label "VS256MD133 LOT 0423042-0" Tested it on 3 different systems, on the last(DELL PRECISION 210) POST prints errors in the format: [address] expected [some value] received [some different value] then it says that amount of memory was decreased and finally I'm getting a blue screen when OS is trying to start. On the other computer system can start sometimes but then freezes anyway or giving me blue screen. I Did not tested it with Memtest86+, do I need to do that before you can issue me RMA ? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 17, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 17, 2004 Unfortunately the Dell Precision Workstation 210 has 4 memory slots on it, and the maximum memory that you can put on that machine will be 512MB, and that will give you a max on each DIMM slot of 128MB, so definitely our VS256MB133 module will not work on your system, due to the chipset and specification limitation. mrformer
Ok, thanks for you answer. But here is the thing: this module SHOULD work if installed as the only memory module in the system. At least, 256 MB module which i brought from my work works great. RMA ? ;-)
mrformer
Anyway, my primary concern is why this module doesn't work correctly on other systems too.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 18, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 18, 2004 Unfortunately this is due to the chipset limitation, and there is nothing much we can do. Memory will automatically down grade the speed, but the size can not be adjusted and different sizes has different specification on it.
