Mithrilwind
Mobo: Asus K8V Deluxe SE Processor: Athlon 3200+ 64-bit Newcastle RAM: 2x VS512MB400 I've purchased this RAM in August and seemed to have little glitchy problems occasionally in Win XP Pro. It seemed to occur more often recently so I ran the new (Nov 11) version of Memtest 86 and discovered that one of the modules was producing errors. I tested this stick individually in both slots and found the same errors while the other stick came out clean. Memtest correctly identified the CAS latencies as 2.5-3-3-6 each time. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 17, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 17, 2004 Please put the memory module on slot 1 & 3; make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB, and set the following settings on your BIOS; Advanced Chipset: Memclock Mode: Limit Memclock Value: 2:1 (DDR400) Bank Interleaving: 4/Enabled Burst Length: 4 SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T Hypertransport: 4X Jumper Free/Frequency Voltage Control: Spread Spectrum: Enabled CPU FSB Clock: 200 DDR Voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! Mithrilwind
I set the BIOS as you directed and the questionable stick of memory still tested immediately bad in Memtest in each DIMM slot on the motherboard. I tested the supposed good stick in each slot and it passed 4-5 times.
