TheVirus
What a week.. what a horrible week. AMD64 dies, sent to AMD, they say its good. So it's probably the board. I put in my old barton 2500 + MSI K7N2 and everything runs fine. Rebooted after installing windows and I get nothing. No video, no nothing. MSI reports memory detection test failed. It hangs if theres a bad module installed. So now I guess I have bad RAM, which until 5 minutes ago was running fine. This sucks. Cleared bios, did the jumper thing. I get nothing. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 16, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 16, 2004 Can you tell me the exact model# of your memory module, and how many total modules you have in your system? In addition, please tell me if you have the latest BIOS installed on your system and the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? Have you tried to troubleshoot the system outside the case, and have you tried testing the system with just the memory, CPU and heatsink, video card installed and see if the system can boot up. TheVirus
I'm at work so I dont know the model numbers. Just 2 512GB sticks of PC3200C2 Latest bios I assume. I havent had the system on in a while. I reinstalled windows and boom no go on POSTing. I tried taking everything out but still nothing. At the current moment I don't have a spare PC to test it on since my Asus A8V is kaput. I'll see what I can do.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 16, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 16, 2004 Can you please try to test the module in a different system or in a friend system if possible, just to confirm if the memory module will able to boot up or not, and to make sure its not some other issue! After confirming this and If the system still can not boot (no post screen); then I will suggest we get it replace. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
TheVirus
Of course! That is what I plan on doing. It is so difficult to find someone that has DDR in their system. Everyone I know has a laptop! The slackers... Thanks

TheVirus
Had a friend test it. He said it ran fine. I tested it myself on other machines but I think the memory is too 'good' or not compatible because I got lots of beeps. Anyway thanks. I think my power supply is messing up everything. Shame Corsair doesnt make power supplies!
