Arek
Hi, I have been getting random errors, system reboots & general instability for the past few weeks. Last few days I spent testing my memory modules using memtest. I have 2 sticks of CMX512-3500C2PT purchased at different times. One tested fine, no errors whatsoever. The other CMX512-3500C2PT XMS3502v1.1 024919 shows errors in tests 5 & 6 only. All other tests show no errors. Last time I ran memtest for 9hrs43mins & test 5 showed 6663 errors, test 6 - 327 errors. My system specs: Intel P4 3.0Ghz running 15 x 200mhz Asus p4p800 deluxe - standard settings, not overclocked Ati Radeon 9800 Pro On board sound 2 x Seagate Barracuda IV HDD's Motherboard has latest BIOS, all drivers are latest as well. I tried running faulty stick in all 4 slots- same results. Tried following timings: 2-3-3-7, 2-3-3-8, 2.5-3-3-7, 2.5-3-3-8. Also tried different voltages- 2.65 & 2.75. And finnaly I tried this stick in my second system, Athlon XP2400 with pretty much the same results. I did search these boards for all different suggestions, but none of the make much difference. Lastly, I live in Australia so do you have a local agent here? I am unable to contact original retailer. Thank you. Arek
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 16, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 16, 2004 Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! Sorry but we do all RMA's and customer service here in the U.S., so you will have to send the modules back here in U.S.
Arek
Thank you very much for a prompt reply RAM GUY. No problems sending modules to US. Do you want me to send both modules or just the faulty one? Thanks Arek
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 17, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 17, 2004 I would suggest you to send them as a pair, since the 3500 modules are discontinued, so I do not think you will get 3500 as a replacement, and that will be a problem if you have 1 3500 module and 1 different module. The replacement will be either the exact same part or something equivalent to it maybe even higher.
Arek
Will do. Thanks again for a quick reply. I always believed Corsair makes the best memory & it is good to see it has customer service to match. Arek
