Brianc
Hi! I have a corsair cmx512-3200c2,xms3202v1.1 module and a cmx512-4000,xms4000v2.1 module. Will these work together as a dualsetup in a Asus a8v deluxe? If not - can I buy another cmx512-4000 module or do I have to buy a matched pair? Thanks Brian
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 15, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 15, 2004 No, I am sorry, but with this MB like many others the modules would need to be the same part# and revision to properly work together. I would try to match either module and you should be fine, or if you can find another use for these modules Twinx1024-3200XL would be a better choice. Brianc
Hi! Thanks! Another thing! Today I noticed that the xms3202 module will not run 1:1 (2:1 in bios) memory speed - If I have fsb200 sisoft reports memory fsb as 333. I have tried with all timings set to auto. If I insert the xms4000 module - everything is ok. Why cant the xms3202v1.1 not run 1:1 (2:1 in the asus bios.)??
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 18, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 18, 2004 The 3200 should run perfectly fine 2:1 setting on an ASUS A8V MB. Please put the memory module on slot 1 & 3; make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB, and set the following settings on your BIOS; Advanced CPU/Memory Configuration: Memclock Mode: Limit Memclock Value: 2:1 (DDR400) SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T Jumper Free/Frequency Voltage Control: Spread Spectrum: Enabled CPU FSB Clock: 200 DDR Voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
