I recently purchased a new video card: ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card PSU Connector: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1xPpSvY53nNcjhsVl9pQXJKVUU/view?usp=sharing The power cable from the Vid Card to the PSU is a problem. 1. It is not long enough to reach from card to PSU at the bottom of my mid-tower case. 2. The pins keys are not the same to fit into the Corsair PSU 6 pin connectors. 3. The Vid Card Plug ends have retaining clips on the sides, the PSU was designed for plugs with the clips on the top, so two 6 pin connectors from the video card will not fit side by side on the PSU, even if it did reach, even if the pin keys were the same. How can these two popular items be so mis-matched, and how can they be fixed? Does corsair have a power cable extender and adapter combo for this? Are you simply saying that the PCIe cables that come with your PSU are not long enough because your case is larger than average or because of how the cable is routed? If so, they do make extensions. rm5081 Posted January 27, 2015 Author Share Posted January 27, 2015 The solution was as follows. My computer was a custom build with a modular cable PSU. They did not include the unused cables with the PSU, so I had no others. The video card requires an 8 pin PCI-E to a PSU 6-Pin, as the older PSU doesn't have a dedicated extra 8 pin as the newer ones do. I was able to get a phone number for Corsair from NewEgg, Corsair pointed me to the cable to order. Corsair standard shipping didn't mention they send it UPS, so keep that in mind if you have any delivery issues like I do in a Condo Complex. 8-) Regards.
