Corsair Link issues Windows 8.1 64bit

Hi,

New user here. Installed an H80i today. Installed beautifully easy. PC is up and running now and I'm trying to use Corsair Link and within the system monitor it shows the Corsair fans, hard drive, graphics card, motherboard and it's temps, cpu and it's temps. .but unfortunately there is no pump seemingly. I'm played around with the fan settings, switching them from quite mode to max speed etc and haven't noticed any changes with the fans at all so it appears I have no control over them. Also I can't figure out where to adjust the led settings in this software either. I'm using 2.7.5361 software version.

From my searching around it looks as if Corsair Link was having many issues with windows 8.1. . but those links I found were a couple of years ago so I was hoping they would have worked out all the kinks by 2015.

I tried disconnecting the usb cable from the pump, switched to an alternate usb port on the mother board. Rebooted the system, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Unfortunately the kinks are still not worked out. Corsair was supposed to resolved all of this with the 3.0 software as mentioned in the video here 6 months ago [ame]

[/ame] but so far nothing.

So we are left with either using v 2.4.511 or a version that works, using registry hacks, disabling USB legacy mode in the motherboard BIOS, disabling USB power suspend, etc until this 3.0 software is released...

Thanks for the reply.

Well that stinks. Not seeing the pump or not being able to change the LED are at least things I can live with until this 3.0 software is released. My only question now is should I be worried about the H80i's ability to keep my cpu cool? It's idling at 29c right now and it's an AMD 8350 8 core cpu.

The hydro will use a default profile in the event the Link software isn't used.

The software is designed to specifically tailor settings

This thing sure is loud under this default profile though. .it's just humming away lol. Testing it with some gaming right now. My Gf walked in the room and said "What's it trying to do fly away?" haha. Will version 2.4.511 allow me to switch it into quiet mode at least? It is keeping the CPU about 15 degrees cooler than the stock heatsink though.

Yes,assuming of course that you have control of the fans, theres different fan options such as a curve, quiet, balanced or fixed rpm.

any one of these will let you lower the turbines...;):

I switched to 2.4.5110 and now it does not even show me the fans any more. It's picking up my graphics card, my cpu and it's temps, and my hard drive. No more fans though lol. Does this mean I don't have control of the fans? I'm using the Corsair fans that came with the H80i, they are plugged into the Y connector and then plugged into the cpu block. .

Use 2.5.5145 and up as that is the first version to come with Windows 8.1 support.

Try the 8.1 registry edit which can be found here in the forums and see if that helps.

Is the H80i detected in Windows? You can check by going into "Devices and Printers" then look for "integrated USB Bridge". If it is not seen, try a mini USB B to Type A cable and see if that helps.

Yes the h80i is detected in windows devices and printers as "integrated USB Bridge."

I'm not comfortable making registry edits though since I use this PC for work as well, and I've read many threads here stating that the registry edits didn't help any way.

I'm just going to wait for Corsair to come out with the working software.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

I wanted to come here and update this thread. Corsair Link is now working for me. I've upgraded to Windows 10. I basically deleted all traces of Corsair link off my PC from following advice on these forums, and I installed the latest version of link, and now everything is being picked up in link, I can change the LED color on my H80i and everything. No problems what so ever and I didn't do any kind of registry edits at all. I'm actually enjoying the software now that it's working for me. That is all.
