T-Bone
I just put a TWINX1024-3200C2 on my GA-8IPE1000 motherboard... the ram I removed was one 512mb pc2700 chip. Having installed the new ram, I looked at my installation guide for the motherboard and noticed that it says "memory size can vary between sockets," which completely confused me... Everything runs well now, the new 512 chips are set up in the two colour-matching memory sockets (slots one and three), otherwise it will only run one of them. My questions: Will pc2700 run with pc3200? if it will... Is there any point putting the old ram back in my computer as well, and if so what sockets should they all be sitting in? Wired
They can run together, however the 3200 will run at 2700 speeds. Also, it's not recommended to mix memory from manufacturers.
