hi,

I have an IC7 mb and 2x CMX256A 4000PT v1.1 XMS4000 on it.

(bios ic725, ic7 v1.1, p4 3.0C)

I d'ont understand something.

When I use memtest86 to test the 2 modules together, it finds some errors, but only in dual channel mode.

the modules are sold as "matched memory pair", they should work properly in dual channel mode, arn't they ?

i tested each module separetly, and no errors. I really don't understand.

I tried with my BH-5 windbond modules (2x256) and no errors in dual mode.

Could someone tell me if I should ask for return.

the errors appear at any speed, voltage, timings.

I felt that really strange ; errors that appear only in dual mode. So I decided to test again each module separetly, but more longer than 15 minutes.

And I was really surprised.

first module : 2 errors in 30 minutes.

second module : 0 errors in 29 pass (2H53)

I thought the problem was maybe due to my motherboard, but now I'm happy to find the guilty.

I will ask tuesday to my reseller to replace the module, but i think he will tell me that the warranty is manufacturer, so should i send it back directly to corsair? the 2 modules or only the bad one ? they were send in a "matched memory pair".

Please put the memory module on slot 1 & 3; make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB, and set the following settings on your BIOS;

TwinX512 or TwinX1024-4000

Guru Utility/Softmenu Setup

CPU Clock: 200

Memory Clock: 200 or 400MHz

CPU/DRAM ratio: 1:1

Spread Spectrum: Enabled

DDR Voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts

AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!*

Advanced Chipset:

SDRAM Timing setting: User define/Manual

SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T

All other settings should be set to default settings!

Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
