zverg
I've been running this 2-3-3-6 memory at 3-3-3-8 since I bought it. My computer makes the beep that it does when the ram is missing if I try to run it at 2-3-3-8 or 2-3-3-6. The memory is CMX512-3200C2PT, I have two of them. So far, I have tested the sticks individually and they still won't run at 2-3-3-6. Later tonight I'm going to have a kid down the hall (hooray college) test it in his system (an Abit NF2 motherboard) to see if it works, and I'll be testing his OCZ memory in my system. I like corsair but if it won't work with my system, this sucks.
zverg
no one knows? i'm sure someone with this motherboard must be on here.
Wired
Knows what? There was no question there. If you are asking what the problem could be, it depends on the result of your memory swapping, as well as what CPU / FSB you have. Tried 2.5-3-3-6 @ 2.75 or 2.8 volts? zverg
I have a 2500+ Mobile AXP running 11.5x200 (2300 MHz). I've tried running it at 14x133 (OEM rated speed) and I still can't get the memory to run at speed.
Wired
Was the memory @ 200 Mhz or 133 Mhz though?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 15, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 15, 2004 I would suggest you start with the defaults settings for the CPU, which should be 166 MHz. unless you have a Mobil CPU. However, please try these settings and work your way up from there. CPU Freq: 166 MHz CPU Multiplier: 11 Memory Frequency: 100% Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts Resulting Frequency: 166MHz SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T And as you raise the CPU Freq. you may have to lower the Multiplier to 9 or 10. zverg
It's a mobile processor so it's 14x133. I can't do 2.5-3-3-6, I can't do 3-3-3-6, but I can do 3-3-3-8. Now I know better and probably won't ever buy Corsair memory unless someone else with the same motherboard as I can confirm that it works. I'm stuck with 1GB of "performance" memory that cannot be ran at any timings that can be called performance. edit: memory was at 200, same situation when it's at 133.
