millersj59
I have the Corsair TwinX XMS3200 512 MB Modules. They worked fine for a while & then the system stopped. I ended up replacing the memory to get it working. I bought another board, the same as the first (Asus A7N8X Deluxe), & it wouldn't post with these modules installed. As soon as I replaced them it worked. I would like to have them repaired as I spent too much on them to forget them. Thanks,
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 15, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 15, 2004 Can you tell me on how many memory module/s do you have and if you have the same revision/version i.e. V2.1, V1.1 (if 2 modules) along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
millersj59
Hi, I bought the modules as a kit; so they came as a pair. In the top right corner of both modules I have this number XMS3205v1.1. I have the Bios set as default - no overclocking - the CPU is set at 166 memory set at 166 I have tried various setting on the memory with no luck. It used to read at 200 FSB with the default settings. Now nothing works. Thanks, Scott
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 15, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 15, 2004 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/Optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3200C2 CPU Freq: 166 MHz (333 FSB) System Performance: User Define Memory Frequency: 100% Resulting Frequency: 166 MHz (333 FSB) Memory Timing: User Define SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T DDR Reference Voltage: 2.7 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
millersj59
The machine will not post with the ram for me to get into the BIOS. Do you give me the RMA number or information or am I in the wrong area. They're not working, they're under warranty & I would like this resolved so I can use them as I spent more on them than I have on the other modules I use & they work, these don't; in the same system. Thanks, Scott
