Protocol48
I did a some quick research as I have much experience from my searching and deciding on my memory kit (that totaled $375) If you look at the attached comparison chart excerpt, the only differences are the price and the warranty (also the weight, but one seems be in error) Memory chip prices fluctuate over time, and memory errors pop up sometimes, and added to websites' customer reviews. This is a guess: the 2B may be a newer, better (?) memory chip version of the 2A at a higher cost and less warranty. NewEgg has (today (12/21/14) the 2A for $84 and the 2B for $91 US. I thing either will work, BUT: Amazon has a lot of complaints on the 2A, but have no reviews of the 2B. Newegg has a lot of negative and positive reviews on the 2A but none on the 2B If you search for tech reviews of the kits, there are no reviews of the 2B. So my guess is that the 2B is a new version of the 2A, and for $7, I would lean toward the 2B. But this is just my opinion.Corsair memory-Compare Results.pdf
Administrators Technobeard Posted December 22, 2014 Administrators Share Posted December 22, 2014 http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80808 M2 = 2 Modules A/B = revision revison has nothing to do with the memory IC that's used. The version number indicates what IC is used, but it's not sequential. Any version can be made at any time depending on what ICs are available. Either memory kit will work fine with your motherboard.
