LuckyDuck
I have BSOD several times a day. Sometimes on bootup, sometimes running explorer, sometimes on shutdown. Windows XPsp2 - clean install no other software installed ASUS A8V Deluxe AMD64 3800+ Corsair TWINX 1GB 3200LLPro MSI FX5900XT128 SB Audigy If I test with Windows Memory Tester boot disk I get errors always in the region of 9e300-9fc00. I do not see these errors with Memtest86 v1.3. What is the difference? Is the memory good? Do I have a bad CPU memory controller? I have switched banks with the errors in the same region after switching. Memtest86 shows CAS 2 3 2 6 The bios settings are all auto, but I have tried them hand selected with the same results. What can I do to determine the cause
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 11, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 11, 2004 With the modules installed in slots 2-4 (A2 & B2 ) please install the latest bios 1.006 beta 6 or newer and then load setup defaults and set the following settings. Dim Voltage: 2.7 Volts CAS Latency CL=2.0 Row Cycle Time tRC Bios Default Row Refresh Cyc Time tRFC Bios Default Ras# to CAS# delay tRCD 3 Row to Row delay Bios Default Min Ras# Active Time tRAS 6 Row Precharge Time tRP 2 Write Recovery Time Bios Default Write to Read delay Bios Default Read to Write Delay Bios Default Refresh Period tREF Bios Default Enable 2T Timing Disabled Then test the system with http://www.memtest.org and make sure it's stable! If you have problems, I would set Enable 2T Timings to AUTO and test it again!
