Nemini
Hi there, I have been using this bank since june 2002, when i purchased it. Never got a problem. But yesterday after a reboot my pc didn't restart. After many attemps I realized that this bank was no more recognized. In the early evening all worked as always but 1 hours ago during gameplay I got a PC hangs. After rebooting I got the same problem. And now, using the corsair bank the pc refuses to start (I tried it in any of the three DDR slot available on my DFI LP Ultra, I cleared the CMOS, but no way it works). Now I'm using an OEM 256 MB memory module and so I can affirm that probably my Corsair bank stopped working at all (unfortunately :( ). Any suggestions? Or I should start a RMA request? Tnx Regards Luca
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 11, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 11, 2004 Can you please try to test the module in a different system or in a friend system if possible, just to confirm if the memory module will able to boot up or not, and to make sure its not some other issue! After confirming this and If the system still can not boot (no post screen); then I will suggest we get it replace. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
Nemini
lol, a new, now the bank works... incredible, simply incredible. Is there a way to check if it may be faulty? Memtest86 could be the right solution? If yes, do u suggest to run it only at default timings or with an overclock (DDR overclock I mean)? Tnx
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 12, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 12, 2004 Can you tell me the exact model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
Nemini
Roger, I start telling You that I ran memtest 86 for 2 hours without errors with the following values: fsb = 236 (cpu ratio = 11) Corsair Timings = 11,2,2,2.0 (single channel of course) Motherboard: DFI LP Ultra rev. B CPU: Athlon XP-M Mainstream 2600+ I post all other settings in a minute.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 12, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 12, 2004 Well first of all, the recommended voltage setting for the memory modules will be 2.7 up to 2.9 volts, setting the memory module voltage to 3.3 volts or anything above 2.9 volts will automatically void your warranty. Also we 3200LL running it at 2/2/2/2 with 472MHz Frequency will be too much for the module, it is only rated at 2/3/2/6 for DDR400.
