bigbear
I'm trying to run the 1GB kit on the Intel mobo at 667MHz, but although there's plenty of overclocking possibilities on this board it won't post when I set the RAM to 667 and up the voltage to 2V. Any suggestions? B.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 11, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 11, 2004 Please tell me the exact part# of the modules you have and the exact bios settings you are trying to set for both CPU and memory.
bigbear
I think the partnumber is TWIN2X1024-5400C4, that's what it says on the back of the package. In the Intel Bios (v. 338) under Advanced - Chipset configuration - Memory - SDRAM Control, I set the value to Manual - User Defined. Then I put in 667MHz and 4-5-5-15. I leave CPC Override at Auto and change DDR2 Voltage to 2V, also tried 1.95. Tried a few other settings as well, no luck though. The machine does post (incorrect info in my previous mail), but as soon as the Windows XP logo shows up, it re-boots. Everything runs very stable with the Bios Auto settings. Thanks, Bjorn
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 12, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 12, 2004 We can try replacing your modules if you like, but more than likely it's the MB, as not many Intel MB's will over clock as well as some of the other makers who cater to the enthusiast. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
