uglymark
Hello, I have a bad stick of RAM that was purchased last year from NewEgg. This stick was purchased in a pack of 1 GB TwinX Matched MEmory pair. THe computer it was installed in started acting strange - hard locks, restarts, disapperaing icons... after running a few tests and ruling out things like CPU, GPU, system busses and the like I ran memTest and it errored 5 times before reaching 10%. I installed each stick of the pair singly in our known good testing box and ran memTest on each stick individually - one stick had 0 errors at 250%, the other stick - the one I would like to RMA had 6 errors by 15% and 10 errors by 25%. Do I need to RMA the pair or just the bad stick? Please advise. The original main board was an Asus p4p800-Deluxe and the second main board it was tested on was an Abit IC7-G Max II Advance. It failed on both. Here is the relevant information for both the godd and Bad sticks: /////////////////////////////////////// Pair Information: TWINX1024-3200LLPT Lot# 0339095 /////////////////////////////////////// GOOD Stick Info (from sticker on heat spreader, moving right to left) CMX512-3200LLPT -- XMS3205v1.2 -- 0339095 XMS3200 -- 512MB -- 400 MHz 2326 ////////////////////////////////////// BAD Stick Info (from sticker on heat spreader, moving right to left) CMX512-3200LLPT -- XMS3205v1.2 -- 0339095 XMS3200 -- 512MB -- 400 MHz 2326 Thank you
